If you have already finished writing your book manuscript, congratulations. What an accomplishment! While I don’t want to burst your bubble, however you are only 33% of the way to earning your stripes! Here are the next two steps for becoming a successful author:

The second step for transitioning from the manuscript stage to getting your book published is a no-brainer and you have two ways to make it happen:

1- If relentlessness is one of your better qualities, then start sending your manuscript to traditional publishing houses that specialize in your book’s genre.

2- If you prefer not to put the time and sweat equity into landing a traditional publisher, self-publish your book. According to an October 10, 2018 annual Bowler Report, self-publishing grew at a rate of more than 28% in 2017, up from an eight percent increase the year prior.

Finally, after you publish your book, the fun begins and so does the third step: marketing your book! My goal is to help you to defy the odds of selling a mere 1500 books – which is the average number that authors sell when represented by a traditional publisher. I also want to spare you wasting the energy that you put into self-publishing your book by selling only 150 copies – the average number that a self-published author sells.
